Winter, this time around, has been quite the surprise. Last winter wasn’t nearly as frosty and cold as this one, I feel.
It’s been raining and it’s been grey here lately. Not that I mind. I feel like it matches my current mood. Jokes apart, the weather’s been doing a number on everybody’s health and overall mood. I hope you’re doing well and taking care of your health.
I’ve just recovered from a bad case of the Holy Trio (fever, cold, sore throat). So, it’s no surprise that I’ve been maintained a good distance from my makeup. I only got back into the swing of things a couple of days ago and I just have to say comfortable beiges and nudes make my day. Sticking to the neutrals before I go back to my beloved pinks. ^^
MAC’s MSF in ‘Soft and Gentle’ is one of those feel-good products. I rarely used it earlier but I think it’s time for me to finally go in for the kill. Bobbi Brown’s Sparkle Eyeshadow in ‘Sunlight’ has been my go-to mood lifting products ever since I got it (I got it in July, 2015). It’s such a stunner by itself, but it’s even more stunning when layered over a gold base. I feel like I need to save up and get more shades. I’m eyeing you, Ballet Pink. The Revlon Lacquer Balm in ‘Ingénue‘ with L’Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in ‘Rose Melody’ layered on top is such an effortless combination. They’re both hydrating lip products, so the lips don’t feel the roughness or the dryness of the wintry winds. The nude tones in the Revlon balm perfectly complement the coral tones in the L’Oreal lip gloss (it’s a lip gloss, you guys, not a matte liquid lipstick).
What are your favourite products to use in the chilly winter?
Stay safe and keep warm. ♥
