The last Lip Mood post was in 2018. That was seven years ago, jeez. Today, I’m here to discuss my beloved Dior Lip Glows even more.
So, Dior has reformulated their Lip Glow line YET AGAIN. The newer formulation is now divided into cool and warm tones and has a massive variety of shades. I haven’t tried out the latest formula yet, but I reckon it’ll be similar to the older ones. They have a blue one now, which I really, really want.
My foray into the Lip Glow world was back in 2018. This was when these weren’t even a part of the Addict line-up. I got the shade ‘005 Lilac’, which is my favourite to this day. It’s been years since the original formula I bought as well as the shade have been discontinued, which makes me want to rip my hair out. Every lip product I’ve unabashedly loved has been discontinued. This is no exception. I didn’t even get a chance to repurchase this or to have a back-up. I have reviewed it here.
The newer line-up has a shade called ‘063 Pink Lilac’ which I’m interested in trying. But definitely not before I get my mitts on ‘078 Icy Blue’.
These are my go-to products for multiple reasons and occasions. There are times when other lip products and formulas just overwhelm me. I know, for a fact, that I can just rely on these then. For looks I cannot pull together with other shades, I know I can go back to one of these and be perfectly happy with how I appear. Plus, the minty sensation they impart upon application immediately puts me to ease.
These are also different from other pH sensitive products (which react to your body heat, not pH, let’s be real) in that they don’t turn into that fuchsia pink that’s so common in this kind of formulation. The shades differ and one can immediately tell so. Even in the swatch photo above, you can spot the different nuances in each shade.
The sheer finish, the balmy consistency and the comfort that these impart when you use them just brings me joy. They are hydrating and fix any dry patches you might have on your lips and make them look healthier. Sure, they aren’t the most moisturising in the long run but that’s not their purpose anyway. You should have other more intensive lip balms for that.
I’ve tried many, many other similar products from brands but nothing comes close to these.
