It’s been a while, hi.
THE BACKSTORY: At this point, I would assume you would know which products are among the Top Sellers when I bring up Laneige, a massively popular K-Beauty brand. If you don’t, fret not – amongst other skincare gems, it’s their Lip Sleeping Mask. Think of these little tubes, featured in this review, as the more affordable and user-friendly versions of the same. Did I give away too much?
THE PRODUCT: These Lip Balms come packaged in adorable colour-coded tubes with a slanted tip applicator. Tubes, as you all can gather by now, are a lot more hygienic and are the way to go as far as packaging is concerned, in most cases.
The consistency of these is buttery smooth so they tend to go on with ease. They’re very easy to spread and apply evenly. Unlike the original Lip Sleeping Mask, they’re a lot thinner in consistency. Thus making them ideal for use whenever and wherever you please. As opposed to the before-bed restrictions of the original.
They also last longer than your average Lip Balms, both on your lips and as a product. They’re moisture-retaining and very hydrating. Great to pop on before you head out somewhere or whenever your lips feel the slightest bit dry. The moisture does last, even after the product has worn off your lips (especially after meals). Re-application is also a piece of cake, thanks to the handy-dandy applicator.
These are not as nourishing as the original version, but they don’t have to be since Laneige doesn’t market them that way. Think of these as the upgraded form of Lip Care, ten times better than any Lip Balm you can find on the market right now.
These have a handful of “flavours” (scents, rather) for you to choose from. So you need to know that the fragrance on these do pack a punch. However, they’re not overwhelming and tend to dissipate moments later.
Only a couple of these are tinted. Do note that the tint in those are very faint and barely noticeable.

SWATCHES AND SHADES AVAILABLE: There are 4 variants to choose from as of now and I do think there’s plenty of room for an extension.
- Berry – the most tinted one of the bunch, has a berry pink tint.
- Grapefruit – has a slight orange tint.
- Peach – untinted, smells like peach parfait. ♦
- Pear – untinted, smells like candy apples (despite being Pear, haha). ♦

PRICE AND QUANTITY: 8,000 KRW (490 INR approx. or 7 USD) for 10 grams of product (retails for a lot more on Sephora, wow).

♥ OVERALL: If you can somehow get your mitts on these, consider yourself lucky. These have such a wonderful formula that they kind of put your other Lip Balms to shame.
