Hi, everyone. Let’s take a look at another new launch today, shall we? I showed some restraint and picked up only a single shade because, let’s face it, we all need to save up for the Spring Collections. I think I’ll be skipping lunch in February altogether to afford a piece of either Suqqu’s Spring collection or Lunasol’s. Even Etude House’s collection looks exciting. What’s a broke girl to do?
THE BACKSTORY: The gradient lip has been around for a long time and my country has finally decided to jump onto the bandwagon. I’m not going to lie, I personally love the I-Just-Ate-A-Popsicle Look. It’s what I often go for in the mornings, just some sunscreen and a lip tint in the centre of the lips. There was no way I wasn’t going to look into this product.
THE PRODUCT: I’ll be honest with you, it’s a decent product. However, it’s not going to be lip product of choice when going for the gradient lip look. I’ll tell you why in a bit.
The product is extremely creamy and is velvety smooth. However, if your lips are dry and chapped, your lip lines and dryness will definitely be highlighted due to its near-matte texture. It is very opaque and the pigmentation fills in the lips in one swoop. The sponge smudger on the other end helps in blending out the colour. All in all, the product is creamy, has a matte finish and is easy to use.
However, since it is just so creamy, it just doesn’t seem to last long, especially through eating. It just sits on top of the lips. For that reason alone, I’ll stick to my water and milk tints, which seem to stain my lips and stay on better.
Personally, I think I’ll use it more as a full-blown lip colour. And for sombre occasions, I could just tone down the colour with the smudger and let it act as a stain.
* Tip: Some of you may have difficulty with the twisting the product up. Twist up from the smudger end. ^^
*Tip: Moisturise your lips with a good lip balm prior to using this. (‘ω‘ )
