Hi, guys. Today we’re taking a look at a couple of products from the most recent K-beauty collab that usurped my money.
THE BACKSTORY: I’m sure you’re all familiar with the Minions from the Despicable Me franchise. This collaboration produced some repackaged versions of Missha’s BB cushions, eyeshadow quads, cleansers and lip crayons. There weren’t a lot of products released with this line. Another aspect we need to consider is how these collections sometimes have a second instalment. Maybe Missha’s got a Part II up their sleeves?
What I cannot believe is how I get suckered into purchasing something from all these collaborations on the K-beauty front. I’ve had it, you guys. I need to save money for all the Autumn collections on the J-beauty front. Leave me alone, K-beauty. Please.
THE PRODUCT: Is it different than your usual lip crayon just because it contains the magical word, cushion, in it?
I’ll answer that for you.
No, it’s not.
It’s just your usual retractable lip crayon. It’s very smooth to apply and doesn’t tug on the lips. It doesn’t emphasize lip lines and hydrates well. The cushion part, I guess, comes into play with how weightless and soft it feels on the lips. So, yeah, cushion-y.
Pigmentation and opacity differs from shade to shade but for the most part, they are richly pigmented and you only need one coat to paint your lips. The longevity also differs from shade to shade but they last for 4+ hours if you do not have any meals. They don’t really survive meal-time – especially if you have soups or noodles.
Most of them are scented but none of the scents are too overwhelming. So, even if you have a sensitive nose, you can use these fearlessly.
You can also purchase these in their regular packaging. They look like wax crayons in their normal packaging.

If you really want to try out the product, you could just check out their regular version here. Anyway, these are the 2 shades among the 5 that I’ve reviewed.
RD01 Cherry Shower – An intensely pigmented blue-toned red. (Belongs to the girlfriend, heh. She loves how smooth and richly pigmented it is.)
YPK01 Lemon Soda- A colour-changing variant. It will change into a warm pink when it comes in contact with your lips.

♥ Overall, I do quite like these and would ask you to go for it if you see a colour that’s calling out your name.

Pros
- The packaging is adorable. Of course.
- They are quite pigmented, hydrating and very comfortable on the lips.
- They are smooth and easy to work with.
- They last for a decent amount of time.
- While they are scented, they won't really overwhelm sensitive noses.
Cons
- Availability is an issue. Morever, this is a Limited Edition release.
