A new day, a new-ish lip balm on the blog.
THE BACKSTORY: I’ve had this Lip Balm in my arsenal for some time. I’ve used it enough to influence two coworkers of mine to join the club. I like NARS products a lot and it’s a brand I often recommend without thinking too deeply about it. They’re just that good.
THE PRODUCT: I like the sleek rectangular component, the units are meant to match the shade they contain inside. I also love that it’s reflective.
As for the formula, well, what can I say? It is indeed a lip balm.
It’s sheer but the opacity can be built up a notch if you layer it on. It looks much better when left sheerer, though. I love the glossy finish it leaves behind and it makes your lips look unctuous.
The consistency is quite slippy and not as balmy as other lip balms, in my opinion. I made an immediate comparison to the Dior Lip Glow formula and this product is much thinner than those. It feels nourishing on the lips and it is just very forgiving as a formula. It’s buttery-smooth and very easy to put on. I reckon one can do it without a mirror, even.
Of course, it isn’t long-wearing. It’ll come right off if you eat or drink. Re-application is a breeze so I won’t grumble about it too much.
I also greatly appreciate that it’s fragrance-free.
