Oh, look who’s back to review tints she should realistically have reviewed when they were relevant. It is I, Midori, your friendly-neighbourhood-beauty-slacker.
THE BACKSTORY: I had to sift through my emails to check when I bought these two. Turns out, it was sometime in April 2019. So, I’m not too late. Hahaha. Oh, man, who am I kidding? I’m so late in reviewing these that I don’t even know if Peripera makes them anymore. Then again, the trick with Peripera is to wait it out. They’ll eventually put out a renewed version or repackage them for seasonal releases. Anyway, that doesn’t change the fact that I’m just so late with reviewing these.
THE PRODUCT: As with all things Peripera, their packaging catches your eye at once. The product comes packaged like a little bottle of pancake syrup. The lid is colour-coded to the product inside and the component itself is transparent so you get to see which colour you’re picking up.
The applicator is a doe-foot with a well in the middle. The well holds more product than the actual doe-foot; you don’t really have to dip twice to coat your lips properly with the colour. Because of the well, one dip suffices.
They’re another one of those hybrid-tints that you get quite a lot of in the K-Beauty market. It’s like a hybrid of a water-gel tint.
The pigments in this tint are rather vivid – the saturation is top-notch and they are almost fully opaque at one swipe. They go on smoothly, like a Gel Tint, and they don’t settle into the lip-lines like most Water Tints tend to.
They also wear well throughout the day and are quite long-lasting. Of course, being the consistency that they are, they’re not transfer-proof and hence not quite mask-friendly.
Like I mentioned before, the consistency of these are like a Water-Gel hybrid. They are as pigmented and smooth as Gel Tints and are as comfortable and durable as Water Tints. Best of both worlds.
The finish, at first, is quite glossy. After some time, though, it does eventually dissipate to settle down into more of a stain.
SWATCHES AND SHADES AVAILABLE: I believe the original lineup consisted of five standard shades.
‘3 Calm Pink’ – a lovely warm, mid-tone pink that’s great for daily use.
‘4 Brick Fig’ – a warmer terracotta red that’s bolder.
