In the last post, I remember saying that Korean blushes were… mid. I stand by that. But today, I’m going to talk about an exception.
THE BACKSTORY: Rom&nd, as a brand, is extremely popular. I see it all over social media and their products are gaining traction even in my home country. Their aesthetic, campaigns and color stories are very appealing, so I get why it’s such a popular brand.
I’ve loved almost all of the products I’ve tried (I think the only product I thought was a dud was their mascara) and I’ve tried their blush formula before. However, they’ve reformulated it recently and that’s probably the reason why they’re so difficult to procure now. The renewed versions will be back on e-commerce sites soon.
THE PRODUCT: I quite like how these are packaged. It’s sleek, chic and easy to carry around in a purse/makeup bag. The clear plastic component displays the product in the pan so it’s easy to know which shade you’re grabbing without much fuss.
These blushes, while pigmented, are best built up in soft layers. Using a smaller, softer blush brush gives you that diffused, watercolour cheek look. These blushes are also surprisingly long-wearing. Usually powder blushes, in weather as humid as where I live, disappear in minutes. But these tend to last for at least an hour or two. That’s beyond impressive, in my books.
These blushes, after being reformulated, are no longer powdery to the point of mimicking a loose powder. The kick-up in the pan is less as the powder is pressed even firmer. That being said, they are still quite smooth and easy to blend. Not splotchy in the slightest. They also slightly blur the pores and give you a very soft satin finish.
Rom&nd makes a lot of shades that would flatter lighter skin-tones so I’d ask you to be a little smarter when picking out shades for yourself. A lot of their blushes have a white base and wouldn’t really show up or work on medium to deeper skin-tones. That being said, they also have blushes with a deeper tone which would work on a lot of different skin-tones.
The formula is great, so I’d just ask you to pick shades based on your complexion rather than going for what’s viral or trending.
