Hi, everyone. This post is dedicated to what some might take the liberty to call ‘miracle’ product. Is it really a miracle product? Let’s find out, shall we?

THE BACKSTORY: Whitening, in most Asian countries, is a very tender topic. In my country, we have a more literal meaning of the word than derivative. It really does tend to mean whitening, or let’s say skin bleaching. The concept of having fair skin has been drilled deep into every person’s brain, be it male or female. In fact, most Asian countries do tend to believe that having fair skin is more desirable. Even so, ‘whitening’ in Korea has a fairly looser meaning – it actually means evening out your skin tone. This same function, in my country, would probably be labelled off as ‘brightening’. That being said, this bestselling product isn’t actually a whitening product in my country’s eyes; it’s a brightening product. And that may actually make most of you lose interest since this product is pretty much just like any other mask – it draws out the gunk really well and brightens your skin. So, for all the whitening thrill-seekers, this might not tickle your pickle.

PACKAGING: The packaging is, as you can see, extremely adorable. It looks like an actual tomato. It also comes with a handy little spatula to help in picking up the product and to distribute evenly on your face. Tony Moly packaging, in general, is to die for.

CONSISTENCY: The consistency is like that of a thick face cream or body lotion.

FRAGRANCE: The fragrance of this particular product resembles DKNY’s Be Delicious Green Apple perfume, which some might like and some might find a bit too overwhelming. It’s a strong fruity scent. The smell does fade, if it helps.

THE PRODUCT: This product is often on the Bestseller list in most of the Korean sites. After using it multiple times, it’s understandable why it’s liked so much. Tomato is known to help with cooling the skin, lightening tans, brightening up the skin and so on. And since this product contains Tomato extracted water and other tomato ingredients, it works extremely well in drawing out all the gunk and evil little things hiding away on your face. As a bonus, it unclogs pores, brightens up the skin and makes it extremely soft and supple. It’s multi-functional too; you may use it as a massage pack or a wash-off pack. It tends to work best as a massage pack, though. The brightening properties, though temporary, are noticeable. Most sites even have this available in sample form, which is always a great thing with Korean products – you are able to try them out before committing to the actual full-sized product.

HOW TO USE: After washing and drying your face, take adequate amount of the product using your clean fingers or the tiny spatula provided. Massage on to your face with your finger tips for about 1 to 2 minutes. After the massage, leave it on as a mask for 5 to 10 minutes. Later, wash it off gently in a patting motion.

PRICE: Between $10 – $15 (for 80 g) differing from site to site.
