Hi, guys. This blush has such a cute name that I smile every time I think about it. Isn’t it the most oddly appropriate name? It sounds so random at first, but then you realize that it does make sense – these pictures prove it.
THE BACKSTORY: Do you guys remember the Tom and Jerry short, The Body Guard ? After Jerry rescues Spike from the dog-catcher, Spike tells Jerry to give him a whistle anytime he’s in danger. This whistle jig gives Tom a hard time, since he cannot exactly catch Jerry without getting bashed up by Spike. Tom, then, covers a gumball in glue and tempts Jerry into consuming it, which, in turn, disables him from whistling. The short ends with Spike captured by the Pound once again, Jerry chasing after the truck with Spike, whistling for help, and Tom chasing his prey.
The point is… Gumballs. I couldn’t resist.
THE PRODUCT: There’s nothing more I love than a good blush. This particular blush is definitely one of my favourites at the moment – with good reason. This is a powder blush that is so finely milled that it is effortless when it comes right down to it. It is moderately pigmented, so you could either go for a really sheer look or pack it on for more vibrancy.
The shade itself is so beautiful. It’s a white-based pink, very pastel-pretty, very soft and very feminine. The white tinge brightens up your skin and adds a glow. It lasts for an average amount of time; the longevity could be better and unless you layer it, it won’t really last for the whole day. I’m yet to test this during the warmer season. We shall see how it performs then. It’s great for cooler months, though.
The packaging reminds me of MAC’s old blush packaging, back before they were re-packaged last year. The engraved love mark is pretty but sadly, I’ve dug through it with my constant use.
