Hi, guys. This post is long overdue. It’s exam season and I haven’t had the chance to publish any new posts. I apologize. Not that anyone cares. Let’s get on with it!
THE BACKSTORY: Thanks to Korean sites, I’ve come to expect samples everywhere. If I don’t get any samples, I usually tend to ask. Most brands oblige, some refuse. But it’s their loss, in a way, isn’t it? I’m all for the sample concept. Hence, the start of this new series called ‘Sample Session’, where I’ll just give a quick run-through some samples and if I’d be willing to spend on the actual product.
THE SAMPLE: Bobbi Brown BB Cream in ‘Medium’.
ACQUIRED WHEN: After purchasing a couple of things from their store in Delhi, the sales assistant gave me quite a few samples of this BB Cream.
SHADE MATCH: Nearly perfect.
BREAKDOWN: Base products are something I never look forward to. I have my reasons, you see. However, this product was an exception. The BB Cream is creamy yet adheres to the skin well. It is long-lasting and has medium coverage which can be built up to a more even and smoother finish. It is capable of concealing blemishes to a certain degree. It leaves a semi-matte finish. Setting it with a powder is ideal but during cooler days, it can survive on its own too.
The shade ‘Medium’ has a peachy undertone and it is a good match for my complexion. It’s a little dark for me to use in the winter but it is beautiful in the summertime.
The thing I love the most about this BB Cream is that it is extremely light on the skin – despite having good coverage. I don’t like base products that make your face look caked up and heavy. A win in my books.
RETAIL PRICE AND AVAILABILITY: $46 (3088 INR approx.); sephora, bobbibrown
CONSIDER PURCHASING THE REAL DEAL? Hell yeah! Only when I have enough money, though. It’s too expensive for my student budget.
I have done a few more Sample Sessions in the past. You could check those out too! Click here to read the last one!
