Double Trouble: Addiction Cheek Polish VS It’s Skin It’s Top Professional Waterfull Cheek Polish

I’m finally getting around to writing a comparative post between these two liquid blushes. I’ve been taking my holidays on a whole new level – by not doing anything. I’ll be going on a short vacation next week which is why I’ve been hibernating lately. Let’s just say I’m storing up my energy.

‘Double Trouble’ posts are often meant to provide dupes in terms of formula, colour or performance. However, this time around, I don’t think any of those criteria meet… The only things they have in common are the nail polish inspired packaging and that they are liquid blushers. I initially bought the It’s Skin Cheek Polish thinking it’d be similar to the Addiction Cheek Polish in terms of formula and performance. But they are two different products.

Don’t get me wrong, they are both great products.

First up, we have one of my perennial favourites, the Addiction Cheek Polish. I’ve yammered about this formula ever since I tried it a couple of years ago. It is very pigmented and opaque so you only need the tiniest amount to add some colour to your cheeks. It is easy to blend and has a very silicone-smooth feel to it. It looks very fresh and pretty on the cheeks and lasts for a long time.

No liquid blush had impressed me since I bought this. Until I tried the one from It’s Skin.

The second product, the It’s Skin It’s Top Professional Waterfull Cheek Polish, which retails for $5, is a winner. It’s very watery (like its name suggests) and runny in terms of consistency. You can see just how runny it is in the swatch photos. It blends easily and leaves a gorgeous translucent, dewy flush to the cheeks. It wears beautifully on cooler days and is ideal during the winter time since it doesn’t cling to or emphasize dry patches on the cheeks.

The formulas (sorry, formulae) of these two products are remarkably different but they are both good products. Since the Addiction one is more high-end, the glass packaging is a lot heavier and sturdier. Longevity is another factor where the Addiction Cheek Polish really shines through. Since it is thicker and more concentrated, it lasts a lot longer.  Then again, the It’s Skin Cheek Polish is only $5 and performs well enough.

All in all, they are both liquid blushes I would recommend. They are both goof-proof. One is a splurge that you won’t regret while the other has a student-friendly price tag.
