Etude House rebranded themselves and now go by ETUDE. I noticed this sometime earlier this year and thought I’d mention it. Also, how cute is my Meowscarada figurine?
THE BACKSTORY: There’s not much of a backstory here. I do like Korean blushes but I think they make better cream blushes. Their powder blushes have always been, in my opinion, mid. They’re decent, at best. I just bought this one because it’s cute.
THE PRODUCT: I like the clear and heavy plastic component. I think it’s chic and minimal. The heart-shaped pan just amps up the cuteness factor. I also like the tiny little message embossed on the blush.
This blush isn’t super opaque right off the bat but is build-able instead. That lends itself to being a much more wearable and approachable product, especially for beginners. While the pigmentation is there, I like how it needs to be built up in layers to pack in more of a punch. I also love products that allow you to do this because you are able to discern just how much you need to satisfy that itch in your brain (as opposed to frantically brushing off and blending out a pigmented blush that makes you look like a clown from the get-go).
I also like the finish on these. They leave a sheen behind and aren’t a flat matte.
The wear-time on this is below average. In this heat and humidity, it doesn’t last long at all. However, if you’re just chilling with the air-con on in full blast, this blush will stay put.
Like I mentioned earlier, this blush is good for layer. I even layer this on top of more pigmented blushes to diffuses the harshness of the blush colour underneath.
