Review: Flower Knows Strawberry Rococo Cloud Lip Cream in ‘S06 Tea Break’.

 

More Flower Knows, folks. A lip product this time.

 

THE BACKSTORY: I have made no secret of my absolute love for Flower Knows as a brand. They put so much thought and effort into each of their collections that it’s difficult to choose one product from them. But in this economy, that’s just what I have to do. Even if I want multiple products from a collection, I just force myself to make a decision among a few candidates. Strawberry Rococo is one of their most popular and beloved collections, and this is one of the first products I bought from the brand.

THE PRODUCT: No surprise here, but I like how this is packaged. I like the pink component, and I especially love the details on the lid. It’s a conversation starter because of how cute the packaging is. However, if you’re carrying a smaller bag or are traveling, its shape is not compact enough to be travel-friendly.

 

It has a regular teardrop shaped wand that picks up enough product to coat your lips with one dip.

 

As far as formulation goes, if you’ve been interested in beauty products over the last five years, you have definitely come across this kind of texture. The consistency is mousse-y and silicon-smooth. It glides over your lips and coats them with colour without skipping or tugging. It also fills in any lip lines or cracks you might have. It’s a very forgiving formula.

 

One swipe is enough to give you full opacity because the pigments in it are that strong. You can deepen the colour by layering on multiple coats. But to me, a single coat suffices. The colour also oxidises slightly after a minute or two.

 

With this formula, I tend to just put on a little bit of product on the lips and blur it out with my fingertips . I really have veered away from wearing products that pack on a lot of pigment lately. By blurring it out and diffusing the intensity of the pigment, I get that wash of colour that I need to pull a certain look together.

 

This is a decently long wearing product but it’s not the most infallible. You will need to touch up after meals. But because of how smooth the formula is, it’s not much of a hassle to touch up. If you’re not exactly having a giant meal, this will last you a good six hours.

It doesn’t fade, and the colour stays put throughout . I wouldn’t call it weightless, but it’s not one of those formulas that you tend to feel on the lips. Although, as a chronic lip-smoosher, I do feel it enough to keep smacking my lips together. It’s still comfortable, though.

 

It has a slightly sweet floral scent which dissipates fairly quickly so it doesn’t quite catch the attention of my sensitive nose.
