Hello, hello. Time to look at the last product I’ve purchased from Ruby’s Organics.
THE BACKSTORY: At this point, I’ve written about Ruby’s Organics a handful of times on the blog. They’re definitely a local brand that’s worthy of keeping up with.
THE PRODUCT: Again, I like the hefty and fuss-free packaging. I also like that it comes in a glass jar with a plastic stopper. The stopper helps in making sure the product does not dry up and lasts longer.
Because it’s a cream blush, it is easy to use and it, most definitely, is beginner friendly as well. The pigmentation is strong and it’s also quite opaque so it’ll do you good to work it in a smaller amounts (a dot for each cheek, say).
The blush itself is quite stiff and needs to be warmed up a little to apply more seamlessly. It has ingredients like Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter so the heat of your fingers should do the trick. It’s also not as dewy as other cream blushes and has more of a satin finish.
I must also mention that the product is vegetarian and cruelty-free.
Another benefit of it having a cream formulation is that you needn’t use a brush. You can simply use your clean fingers.
You can also use it on your eyelids and your lips. However, I don’t find it translates as well onto the lips. On the lids and cheeks, it’s great. It lasts well on both the lids and cheeks. It fades a lot quicker on the lips.
It’s a nice blush to have, yes, but I don’t think the price-tag is anywhere near justifiable. If it fits your aesthetic and you vibe with the brand, only then would I ask you to consider it. There are a lot of other cream blushes that offer the same thing for a lot less. It really doesn’t make sense for one to be paying such a significant amount of money for one cream blush. It’s not unique in that sense. Again, I do enjoy the actual product but not to the extent that I can overlook its steep price-point.
SWATCHES AND SHADES AVAILABLE: I believe there are 4 shades available in their cream blush formulation.
- Deep Rose – A dusty rose that pulls red/purple depending on your complexion and undertones. I reckon it’s a shade that’ll suit a wide range of skin-tones.
PRICE AND QUANTITY: 1100 INR for 9 grams of product.
AVAILABILITY: Ruby’s Organics, Amazon, Nykaa, Myntra etc.
♥ OVERALL: It’s nice, sure, but it’s not worth paying so much money for. Wait for a sale, or, better yet, skip.
